A/n: Happy Valentine's Day! Know that you are loved and valued, sending hugs and kisses to all of you!

Don’t even get this boy started- he practically has a whole encyclopedia on the reasons he loves you. Everyone knows. He could go on and on about you for hours (I’m not exaggerating). Although he’d be shy to say some of what he thinks, what comes first is you knowing how loved and valued you are. Armin is always always always willing to help you with your studies, he’s happy to be able to and so so proud of you for giving it your all. After a bad grade you seem to be really bent out of shape about, he takes you to his dorm and gives you all your favorite things like snacks, music, and of course cuddles and small words of encouragement. If it’s something you want to act on right away, Armin is more than willing to help you after you unwind for a bit. Rest time is just as important as studying, after all. Either way, he reminds you that you are a person beyond how you score on tests and things like that. He cares about you for who you are and not what you achieve. It’s important to remind yourself of the things you do well rather than always bringing yourself down with reminders of the things you do wrong. You have such a bright mind and so much love to offer. It kills him that you tear yourself apart so much. He finds ways to help you that cater to your learning style, and gently reminds you of the meticulous little important parts of the things you’re learning so you don’t trip yourself up over little mistakes. He endorses positive reinforcement! (And as a side note I think he’d make a great teacher or professor). If anyone tries to make you feel bad about it, Armin is there to reassure you all the way. Long hugs and deep breaths, he makes you tea (or anything else you may prefer) to refresh your mind. He tries to keep your thoughts off those people as much as he can, and always gives them nasty glares when you’re not looking. Reminds you that they only bring you down to make themselves feel better, and you are not defined by the opinions of others. As important as Armin considers studying to be, he also knows (from personal experience) that overworking yourself isn’t a better alternative. You can burn out much quicker that way. He makes sure you leave free time in your schedule to do things you enjoy. Seeing you happy and smiling is Armin’s favorite view in the entire world, even if it took him a while to get around to telling you. Your laughter makes something light flower in his chest. Armin makes sure to kiss your forehead when it’s crinkled with worry, rub or massage your shoulders when you’re tense, and hold your hands while whispering words of encouragement. His favorite is pecking your lips over and over till he feels a smile start to form.

One of the main things Armin reminds you of is that academic achievement is not and should not be the exclusive way of measuring anyone’s ‘worth.’ I mean look at him- he has his books and studies and philosophies- but he can’t run or catch a ball or play music. Armin is amazed by how many different kinds of people in the world there are, each with their own unique talent. You will always be more than enough to him for being who you are. He is there to support you through the good times and the bad, doesn’t think less of you for any rough patch or slip up. The non-judgemental and supportive atmosphere he surrounds you with feels like a breath of fresh air. Armin sees you as nothing less than extraordinary for simply being yourself.

I think when you had to tell Nathaniel the big news, you would have been nervous. And not because you thought he would take it badly. I think that although Nathaniel has changed a lot over the years, mainly since what happened with his father, which I also think influences a lot, his desire to start a family as the independent adult that he is now would have constantly been a topic that you two would have mentioned a lot in your relationship.

The way you told him was probably much simpler than you might have imagined, but you were so wrapped up in your worries that you couldn't think of a creative way to do it. You just nedeed to get it out of your head. Hiding it would only make it worse. So you decided to break the news to him the same day you found about it.

It was late, almost dawn when you heard Nathaniel announce his arrival at the house. His guard shift had extended longer than he expected, but even so, he always knew that you were waiting for him (probably awake), so he didn't worry about making noise.

Seeing you appear, he couldn't help but smile widely. "I couldn't wait to get home." His words made you smile and Nathaniel rushed to welcome you into his arms, inhaling your scent with his head on your neck. The silence was loud at the moment, and before you could think...

Also, I have the thought that many times you found him crying, and whenever you asked, he told you it was because he was afraid. (Have to add that Nath, always knows how to communicate with you, something you´re alway glad for and that he learned to you while he started giving you all his trust.)

Rather, he was worried. His worst terror was becoming a bad father. You knew that although years had passed since the incident with his family, it is the type of wound that never heals. So although Nathaniel would never have worried about that but, now that he had the responsibility of raising a baby, it was the only thing that came to his mind.

But Nathaniel is so in love with you, he knew that as long as you were there everything would be fine. So you always know how to calm him down when his anxiety starts to eat away at him. And he will always be grateful for that, and of course for everything you always do for him.

Another thing is that I feel that since he almost never had time to stay at home so much, he didn't really know how to do certain chores (I mean, he knew, he just wasn´t too experienced about it.)

But now that he basically forced you to stay in bed resting, he was forced to learn to make simple dishes, clean from time to time and keep everything in order.

On the other hand, getting up at such late hours of the morning to indulge in those strange cravings that you had in the middle of the night became routine.

And as expected, it didn't really supposed a problem, Nathaniel was already used to being awake at that hour on patrol.

I think a moment that stands out was when they told Amber, who immediately started crying and asking so many questions that Nath had to tell her to calm down so as not to overwhelm her. While everything was happening, you couldn't stop thinking about how things changed.

In high school, you were convinced that you and Amber would hate each other forever. Just like Nath, who thought he would have to deal with constant tension between you.

The doctors told him that he couldn't cause such a disturbance, since it should be a calm moment for both of you, but he couldn't help but burst into tears when he saw his baby on the screen. After calming down , they let him back in. You just laughed at the situation, such a cry baby really 🙄. And in general, pregnancy was a complicated process for both of us, but Nathaniel always made sure to be there to help you with whatever you needed at all times. (AS HE SHOULD, dont expect less!)

✧. - ̗̀ GENDER REVEAL . . .

I don't think Nathaniel is the type of person to speculate about the gender of the baby. Really, he didn't care too much as long as he was a healthy child.

I think he would be the first to suggest a huge list of names, depending on the gender, and to buy some clothes. The process of creating the baby´s room was complicated, and although you suggested doing it after the gender reveal, your husband simply couldn't wait and by the time you realized it, Nathaniel had bought all the necessary furniture.

He decided that he would use light colors for the room, and then you could decorate on top of the white walls with another color. I feel like the room would be strangely symmetrical and orderly. But in the sense that it wouldn't have a warm look. I think Nath always had a huge love for modern things and simple decorations, unlike you.

So, of course, you were in charge of giving it a more homely appearance and placing decorations in warmer colors so that it wasn't all white. In the end, it is simply your way of complementing each other.

The moment when, after a few moments that felt infinite, he saw the nurse come through the door with a bundle so small that it was completely surrounded by a blanket, he felt his heart skip a beat.

Although he tried to hold on as long as he could, the moment he saw how you received him in your arms, the tears began to fall. There was no sound or words, just his eyes full of love staring mesmerizingly at both of you.

After a while, Nathaniel held him in his arms. The moment he looked into his eyes, all his worries faded away. And he knew he wouldn´t let anything in the world hurt him.

"He…" His voice sounded choked by crying. "He has your eyes…" He couldn't finish his sentence, so he stayed silent to avoid bursting into tears and waking the baby. So he just hugged him against his chest. Nathaniel didn't know at all what would come next, but he was sure that he would do wathever it takes to keep you both safe. Both of you were his whole life. Anything else mattered.

i have no idea if you've ever heard of paddle boarding, but i think Armin would absolutely love that activity!!!

Oh my gosh hi! I didn’t expect to get this, but it’s such a sweet idea! Hello Milo! (That’s the name on your blog that I think you use? Or is that just there? Are you called Rui)? 

Yes I have heard of paddle boarding, I’ve actually seen people doing it right next to me before because I’ve gone kayaking a few times! (I live in a place with a lot of natural springs).

I know you didn’t technically ask for this, but I try to take the opportunity to write headcannons/drabbles here and there whenever I can to keep in the habit of writing. I am slowly making progress with chapter seven though!

Paddle Boarding With Armin

Armin/gn! Reader (Headcannons)

Armin is always one for the beach, inhaling in the salty breeze, splashing around with you in the waves, buying ice cream, collecting shells, sharing all his ocean facts, bundling you up in towels for the drive home. 

BUT- if he had to pick a second, more accesible favorite water activity, it would defiantly be paddle boarding. 

He does his research on which areas to visit, he usually prefers to go to a freshwater spring river/lake since the cool water keeps away things like alligators and crocodiles.

“They’re cold blooded and need to use their environment to regulate their body temperature, so they avoid colder waters, isn’t that cool??”

“Yes, Love.” 

He was a swimmer in high school, so there isn’t anything to worry about if one of you falls off. 

He was already pretty toned from swim team, but since the two of you started paddle boarding, his arms have gotten stronger. The constant paddling proved to be a good exercise for the both of you. 

That said, all it takes is a hop into the water for a few minutes to cool off and refresh yourself. 

The two of you took turns helping each other learn to balance in a lake nearby when you first started. 

One of you would stand in the water near the dock and hold the edge of the paddle board, the other would try to step on and balance for as long as they could as the person in the water slowly moved the board along. 

Obviously it took a few times for you both to not just fall in the water immediately, but that’s okay because whenever you fell off Armin would give you a peck on the lips for a little extra motivation and vice versa. 

His skin gets so pretty and sun kissed after you’ve been out on the water for a day. He gets the cutest splaying of summer freckles across his nose and looks a little pinker than usual under the sun. 

If you don’t always feel like paddling on your own that’s totally okay, you can just sit on the paddle board by Armin’s feet and he’ll gladly paddle you both along. 

He’s the best at packing snacks and sandwiches for you both in case you get hungry, he knows all your favorites and 100% bought a waterproof bag to keep it all in. 

One of Armin’s favorite parts of paddle boarding is when you get to stop at a spring and actually dive underwater. 

He brings a pair of goggles for himself so he can go under and look around, and one for you in case you want to join him. 

Even if you don’t want to swim or you find the water too chilly, that’s fine, but he will encourage you to at least wear the goggles and put your face to the surface of the water to see underneath. 

The water is breathtakingly clear. White sand, dark rocks, scattered underwater plants, and blue reflections everywhere you look. 

Armin definitely has a special spot on his shelf where he keeps the shells he collects from the bottom of the spring. 

Tries his best to take underwater pictures with one of those plastic underwater phone cases. 

Most of them come out blurry, but don’t mention it, he loves them so much and will only use the photo quality as an excuse to drag any one of your friends there to see it in person. 

If you do like to swim with him, he’s definitely fantasized about kissing you underwater, but is far too shy to tell you. 

Part of him is sincerely curious what it would feel like, other part of him just really wants to create that memory. 

One time when you two were swimming together in a little offshoot lagoon-like area of the river, he found and opening and decided to take it. 

Armin can hold his breath for a pretty long time. Whether it was a natural ability or one he developed from being on the swim team is unimportant. 

Armin can hold his breath longer than you, so when you started to go up for air while searching for shells on the bottom, he still had a decent amount of oxygen left. 

He tugged on your wrist to pull you back down, you looked at him with a confused sense of urgency. 

Armin swam up to face you, if you weren’t underwater he would’ve taken a deep breath. 

Your eyes widened when he kissed you, he took your moment of shock to seal his lips with yours and breathe some of his air into your mouth. 

The moment was ethereal, even if it did end up with both of you violently coming up from the surface of the water, coughing and struggling for breath. 

When you finally registered what was happening, it caused you to to gasp, which obviously didn’t work, so you ended up inhaling water and Armin panicked a little, losing his air as well. 

You made your way to the shallow sandy area where you tied your paddle board. 

“Armin?” you breathed heavily, a bemused smile creeping into your expression, “Why did you do that?” 

“Because… I… wanted to?” he replied sheepishly, a shade of red tinting his cheeks. 

“Sorry, should I not have done that?” he asked, stepping forward and gently taking your hands in his. 

“It’s fine, just warn me next time,” you smiled sweetly, leaning in to give him a peck on the lips, causing both of you to giggle. 

The two of you wouldn’t indulge in more underwater anytime kisses soon, but at least it’s something Armin can cross off his bucket list.

The thing is: he probably doesn't know the details.

It was never confirmed that Sannes and the MP killed Armin's parents, it is heavily implied though. I have a theory that he doesn't know the truth entirely because his grandfather was waiting for a proper moment to tell him (when he was more grown up maybe) but ended up dying too soon.

Also, I think Armin doesn't have that much of a connection to his parents. It's not confirmed but Armin seemed to be way too young when his parents died and even when they were alive it seemed like they were a little neglectful. Not in a sense of abusing Armin, but just genuinely tossing him to his grandfather and not raising him properly.

Of course that not having a deep connection with your parents doesn't mean you don't miss or mourn their death, so I believe that Armin just doesn't know about the involvement of the MP in this. If he ends up finding that out, he's way more mature now and might not act on vengeance or anything because those MPs and the entire military police branch back in that occasion either died or were arrested during the political arc of season 3.

Unfortunately we can only make speculation of all of this. Maybe some extra content might come out and we can find out more about Armin's family. I think there is extra content but I was never able to find it.

-They almost always know when someone is being dishonest. It's like a sixth sense

-Hanji has an older brother but they don’t talk or keep in contact anymore.

-Hanji had a collection of teeth. Key word had. (Levi had something to do with it)

-They can see a broader spectrum of color and no one believes them!
